I would like to share a process that I had with an active LCP peer. I share this to encourage others to mentor or conduct their own self assessment.
1. printed a copy of an executed LCP utilized and accepted in a case.
2. printed a copy of the LCP practice standards
3. Literally searched and documented within the LCP each standard here is an illustration of practice standard number 1, 2, 3 etc
4. We did a self assessment on any gaps from the standards (in this case all were met) if you do this and find out that a standard is missing look at your work product and adjust.
5. We then printed the fellow application and repeated the process - in this case items were met - some may find that they may need to contribute the LCP domain - if you are short on articles, presentations, contributions to the literature etc this may be an opportunity for professional development and engaged participation. Set them as your 2023 goals.
I have attached the documents for ease of access.
A note to those starting out ....while you are accumulating the minimum required of lifecare plans - you may want to consider how to meet other criteria that is in your control - contributing to the literature does not required fellowship status - you can start to accumulate the other requirements needed to meet this credential.
again, open to help anyone in this area.
