Hello All,
I am in a bit of a bind and thought i would reach out to our membership. I use legal nurse consultants to help with record reviews and one of my nurses has been in an auto accident and will be out through the holidays. She works about 20 hours per week. I need some help while she is out. I am relunctant to hire a new employee, as it is a temporary position. I am relunctant to do a sub-contracting situation, as my office is in CA and i have already been audited once for sub-contracting when the EDD felt my staff should have been employees [CA has unique rules that govern subcontractors]. Currently all of my staff are employees.
So that leaves me wondering if there are any newer life care planners out there who may be looking to get some experience in doing record reviews for the purposes of life care planning work, and willing to do so for just a couple of months and not require financial payment, but rather the mentorship hours. I am happy to also work with the right candidate on other life care planning mentorship, as time allows for us to do other things too. But full disclosure, i am absolutely swamped through the end of the year, and being down a nurse is impacting that even worse. So it may be that we spend some time doing the record review work only between now and Christmas and then next year, once my nurse is back, i can continue to provide hours back in the full scope life care planning mentorship. I am happy to write up a mentorship contract so that the terms are clear and whoever I hire feels they will get back what they need / want in return, even if it takes a little extra time, come the new year.
I am thinking out of the box here in trying to solve my delima and maybe help out a newer professional trying to get some experience. If all goes well, i can also do a letter of recommendation at the end of the terms and i am agree to having you list my company on your CV.
Location is not an issue for me, as we can do the work remotely.
Please send me an email off the listserv, along with your CV and thoughts of what you think may work for both of us, if you are interested.
