    Good evening listserv. Can anyone recommend which of the several approved CLCP training programs they may be familiar with for a recommendation for a licensed Physical Therapist interested in obtaining CLCP? Thank you in advance!

    Good Morning, Ted,

    I completed the old IRET program, which I found a bit out of date and not very detailed for what I needed to know to actually be a life care planner. I am delighted to say that the program now includes new videos that may be better suited to life care planning today. 

    With that being said, Dr. Pomeranz and Dr. Yu are accessible and willing to answer questions.

    Additionally, I completed the FIG program, as well, for life care planners, and found that to be more applicable to what a life care planner needs to know in the daily world. Templates are available for the business of life care planning.

    Shelene Giles, the founder of FIG, is also readily available for additional questions and support as needed. I have found her support to be genuine and invaluable as I continue to learn about the life care planner's role and methodology. 

    I don't have direct experience with the other courses. I will say that membership in the life care planning associations is a key learning experience as well. I watch webinars weekly and participate in the Zoom learning experiences as much as possible. Listening to my colleagues pose questions is a priceless way to learn.

    Hello,

    I am currently in the IRET program.  Dr. Pomeranz was at the IARP conference in September and I had some time to speak with him.  He told me they will be updating the curriculum.  He was hoping by December but obviously that didn't happen.
