IARP / IALCP & ICHCC Statement

Ongoing communication has been taking place between IARP Leadership and Dr. Bobby May and Kathleen May of the ICHCC.  We are working towards a common goal of coming back together to support one another as two parallel organizations who have the life care planning industry's best interests at heart.

    • It is very important that moving forward, the act of speaking ill of anyone or spreading unconfirmed stories come to an end. Any member of IARP / IALCP or certificate holder from ICHCC should feel welcomed to go straight to the source[s], when information is sought, or needs to be clarified / confirmed. The ICHCC welcomes phone calls of inquiry for clarification from any of their certificate holders, as does IARP and IALCP.
    • Both IARP / IALCP leadership and ICHCC leadership have open door policies for answering questions of its members or certification holders. We urge you all to ask your questions and obtain your information while remaining respectful to all parties and involved individuals.

We are currently in the process of working together in order to find solutions so that our future relationship can be strong and cohesive.

    • IARP / IALCP has never been in the business to support or negate any life care planning educational programs or certification programs that are in existence. As a non-profit organization, we do welcome private or public programs to advertise [in our journals or on our website] and/or sponsor IARP / IALCP events [conferences, symposiums, and educational opportunities]. Allowing this does not equate to endorsement.
    • IARP / IALCP listservs are for member use and there is an IARP Connect Code of Conduct that we expect all users to be familiar with and to follow. There is a mechanism and process for members to file complaints if they feel a fellow member is not abiding by the Code of Conduct and all complaints will be considered and acted upon as necessary.

Both parties want to reiterate that we know IARP / IALCP members are professionals. Anyone seeking outside education or certification from any life care planning-affiliated organization, public or private, should do their due diligence and research to assure that you know what you are purchasing. Make the phone calls and ask questions to assure you have all of your information before proceeding.

Please help bring all of us all back together so we can have a strong affiliation with each other and with the organizations that support us. We need each other so that we can all be the best at what we do, which is to help the people who need us the most.

This conversation will continue, and we can only move forward with all of us: a strong section of professionals in life care planning and the institutions of certification that support us.
