    HB 837 passed March 24, 2023:

    Past Medicals:

Essentially disallows past medicals to be presented if past medicals have been satisfied, i.e. paid for by third party collateral source.

The only presentation for past medicals are co-pays the Plaintiff tendered.

If they have no insurance then 120% to 170% of Medicare reimbursement rates are able to be presented.

    Future Medicals:

Funding sources for future medicals may be presented by introducing Plaintiff's personal health insurance. If no insurance then the future medicals may be presented 120% to 170% of Medicare reimbursement rates.

Plaintiff's may also present "normal" funding rates/sources for future care.

This will no doubt create questions for Life Care Planning methodology when it comes to cost research. I will leave at that.
