  • 1.  Defense/Plaintiff balance in Texas?

Do any of you happen to know if there are there any Life Care Planning teams in Texas who lean more toward defense work? A referral firm tells me that they get a consistent flow of requests for LCPs from primarily defense firms and they struggle with finding Life Care Planners who are adept in the defense arena.

If it is not appropriate to reply with this information here, please email or call.

    Thanks,

    Brandon

    Brandon,

It may be best to clarify their request for being "adept in the defense arena".

The methodology, Standards of Practice, and process in preparing a Life Care Plan are not altered based upon a requesting party.

Care Plans may differ based on the medical information however.

Any experienced professional following standard methodology involved in the speciality practice should be able to provide them what they need.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    -Nick

To clarify, you may substitute "familiar with or frequently works with" as that was the spirit of my usage of "adept."

Nick, great response. Our standards do require us to be objective, and not do our work based on "sides". A good life care planner can do work for both sides. Life care planners who "lean" one way can easily be criticized and lose their reputation. I would be reluctant to be retained by any attorney who wants a biased life care planner.
