I wanted to start a different thread to make a point and not have it diluted among several great discussions involving credentials and CEU's.  My route to LCP work has it history in being mentored by Patty McCullum (as i know many others have been as well). I listened, learned, was advised and executed.  I reflect back on that advice and insight - and now trying to mentor two young professionals into this discipline. I was advised to read and study the IARP standards - and work towards obtaining my Fellowship in IARP.  I cannot begin to emphasize how valuable that direction was and how valuable as an expert having the FIALCP designation.  I have several credentials (thus masters) many involve testing and other demonstrations of competency.  What is unique for me with this credential is that it is a true peer review with measurable standards.  I am not dismissing any other credential - it is with added emphasis that the IARP standards and the requirements for FIALCP has its genesis in very accomplished individuals who set the academic foundation for this organization.

As a side note,  I do attend many conferences within a variety of different industries.  The quality of the content is exceptional within IARP.

Do not waste another day not pursuing your FIALCP.... if you get feedback on the initial process consider it a gift and repeat the application.

I am happy to be supportive, provide assistance, brainstorm and or mentor anyone who would like to pursue this designation.

    Respectfully,

    Becky

This is the link to the program  https://connect.rehabpro.org/lcp/fellow/fellow-program     I woke up this morning to a great email that inspired me to write another note - i think it would be a great tribute to have a challenge "A memorial to Patty M and other founders within the LCP community" to get at least 10 qualified IARP members to take the challenge.  So I know of 2 folks so far who have expressed an interest!  Don't be shy or feel overwhelmed just do it.
