    I would appreciate any feedback on the following scenario.

    There is a plaintiff attorney that refers LCP's to me regarding some of his clients.  At present, I have active files with him.

    This same attorney was personally involved in a MVA and would like to hire me to perform a medical cost projection concerning his own future medical needs, etc.  His case is not currently in litigation and he has not yet filed suit (although he may need to file suit in the near future).  I would essentially be hired as a consultant and not an "expert". 

    Is there an ethical conflict in accepting the referral?

    Since there is a prior relationship where you provide professional services for a fee and, I assume, you would like to continue working with this individual; there is the possible appearance that your opinion, favorable or unfavorable, depending on how the attorney views it, could alter the nature of that prior relationship.  I would provide him with the name of another LCP.
