RE: Accreditation
As many of you are aware, the ICHCC has been involved in seeking its accreditation through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. We began this quest in 2007 with our first application submission, and more recently, we submitted a second application in August of 2015. This application was rejected primarily due to our TEST B of the CLCP certification examination. The NCCA ruled that additional item validation and cut-score research was required before they could accept this particular examination. The NCCA requires two rotating examinations for accreditation, and we are in preparation of submitting our next application before the end of 2016, but we need your help. We are asking for 100 life care planner volunteers to sit for TEST B since the NCCA requires a minimum of 100 administrations of a test before they will accept it as a viable measuring instrument of skill sets in specified topic areas. Thus, by sitting for this examination you will help us run the necessary content validation analyses and to establish cut-score levels utilizing specific analytical protocols designed for such purpose. You will receive 4 CEUs for your efforts to complete the 100 item examination, and your score will not have any bearing on your current credential status. The test will be administered online through our website without your need for proctoring, so there will not be anproctoring expenses and you may take this test at anytime and anyplace of your choosing .
We are in the process of administering two CLCP surveys, one being that of a 3rd role and function study that the NCCA noted was due for an upgrade at the time of our second application submission, but was in the developmental phases at the time of our application submission. The second CLCP survey is a report-validation survey that is not required by the NCCA, but a project that the ICHCC has felt a need to complete to add to its set of standards. You will receive 4 CEUs for each survey you complete. These surveys are to be addressed by those health care providers who practice life care planning service delivery.
To summarize regarding potential CEUs that can be earned, you can earn a total of 12 CEUs if you choose to participate in all 3 ICHCC sponsored projects (4 CEUs for role and function survey, 4 CEUs for report survey, and 4 CEUs for test administration at no cost).
We are committed to achieving our accreditation and will continue with our efforts, and only through your help can we achieve our desired full accreditation. Please check our website for postings of the surveys, which should be within the next 10 business days. Secondly, please e-mail us at ichcc1@gmail.com should you wish to participate in the TEST B validation and cut-score analyses, so we can provide you with the user name and password to access the exam.
We thank you in advance for your willingness to participate in our programs.
