It would be great if any webinar could weave in the IARP and IALCP codes of ethics that would need to be considered if the ACA were to be used as a funding source. In many instances, all of the questions people have about the ACA and collateral sources would be answered if we kept the issue of ethics and reliability of funding in the spotlight.

I too have begun to see this as part of the dialogue, but only in preparation for a mediation. The defense is interested in paying the premiums for the highest level available to ensure assess and coverage for any and all conditions, not just those related to the litigated condition(s).

I am posting this in a couple places - sorry to those who have already seen it elsewhere.
I am running into more and more questions from the defense about MY including ACA considerations into the LCP process.
I know we have previously discussed that the LCP is a needs based document, etc. But I also recall some talk within the last several months about how we all may need to pay more attention to the ACA while completing our LCP work. Of course, I was not paying enough attention to this issue at the time, because I was focused on an unrelated assignment.
Today, of course, the ACA has come up again for me in the LCPing process.
Would anyone be so kind as to remind me HOW we LCPers might address this now? And what, if anything, has changed?
Much thanks,
PattyC
