I received an interesting request and wondered if anyone might have any ideas where my friend could explore literature related to this topic. Here is what she asked,
"I am wondering if you know of any studies that address the question of whether patients are more likely to attend follow-up appointments if the appointments are made for them by their provider at the time the recommendation is made (rather than telling the patient to schedule a follow-up and just hoping that they do it). "
It seems obvious, but then again, how do we know? If anyone has any thoughts, your input would be appreciated.
