Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd take a moment to remind you that there will be a "business" oriented Pre-conference session at the International Symposium on Life Care Planning in Minneapolis on September 18th. The entire day will be devoted to exploring the issues that new (and old!) entrepreneurs encounter with self employment.
We have gathered some experts for "technical" topics (such as complying with HIPAA in independent practice). In addition, there will be presentations from a variety of Life Care Planners, all of whom have different ways of doing business. These will provide insights about multiple ways to manage a Life Care Planning practice. Many of us who have been practicing for years are eager to learn how in the world Life Care Planning can be done in a virtual office.
All of the sessions will involve interaction with the audience, so participants can ask questions (or offer guidance!) throughout. People new to Life Care Planning will receive a wealth of information and advice from successful Life Care Planners. Experienced attendees will learn methods to assess the unique ethical concerns encountered when saying, "no" might affect your bottom line. All pre-con sessions will openly address the realities of dealing with unremitting pressure in a high stakes environment.
Please visit the ISLCP.org web site to see the full agenda. This is really going to be a good program!

PS The subject line is a "Growth Principle" borrowed from an article a friend/mentor of mine wrote called, "Cultivating Your Business." I will be sharing other "Growth Principles" and the article when we talk about how to get cases at the pre-con.
