Is anyone using this site to price out costs of medications?  I have avoided using it and instead call pharmacies.  I am concerned about using a site that gives a price with the use of a coupon.  But I've started getting questions about why I don't use these prices found on their website.  Any insight or opinions into this will be greatly appreciated.

I sometimes use this site – but never use their coupon price (who knows what coupons will be available tomorrow).

I use Eprocrates, which is the most popular drug app that physicians use. on iPhone or iPad, etc. It is fast and always up to date.
There is a free version, and a paid version (about $100 per year) that lists drugs by various formularies that insurance companies and institutions have.

Does that resource work for Canadian medications as well?

Epocrates is what I use - Note that Epocrates has started to identify GoodRx as their cost source (I believe their paid subscription is the only source that allows you the pricing of the meds) , phasing out Drugstore.com

    Gerry,

I do not-in the past, I have used various sources for RX $, but found huge variability in pricing on "databases" versus local pharmacies. I now only use direct calls to pharmacies. I ask in my interview where RX's are filled and/or get this data from the records, and make sure that that is one source I include for pricing. I then contact two other national pharmacies closest to his/her home. The variability I see from pharmacy to pharmacy and geographically is amazing to me.  If a PL lives in a higher SES area, I have consistently found RX pricing that is higher than the average or below average SES areas within the same city. I have found variations of up to 40% (or so) between local pharmacies (depending upon the drugstore, and area where the PL lives) and database pricing.  With this level of variability, I generally (there are always odd exceptions) use local pharmacy pricing, and make sure I have 3 pharmacy sources.  This is usually very quick to get and I have found pharmacies very willing to speak with me.
