    Hello all:
I am pleased to annouce that Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare has agreed to partner with ISLCP to present a first ever pediatric pre-conference for the 2014 ISLCP Symposium in Minneapolis in September. Gillette has an international reputation for the treatment of children with all disabilities but particularly CP. See the link to their website: http://www.gillettechildrens.org

We would like your valuable input for potential topics for the pre-con. While I cannot guarentee speakers on requested topics, I will certainly do my best. I will be meeting with Gillette staff in early January to initiate planning. These are some potential topics but please feel free weigh in on these ideas and provide other suggestions:

Spasticity management: Botox, Baclofen pumps, rhizotomy, contracture managment
    Orthopedic surgeries associated with CP
    Brachial Plexus injuries
Pediatric brain injury: how is it different?
Concussion: for those with persistent symptoms
    Deep brain stimulation
Episodes of care: how to decide how much therapy is needed
Sleep issues in children with disabilities
    Wheelchairs, standers, gait trainers
The use of robotics in therapy and at home

September is a typically beautiful time to visit Minneapolis. I hope you can join us for the preconferences and Symposium as we celebrate our 20th!

    Nancy, its looking great!
If you have not included as a specific topic -- Analysis of records at birth as it relates to injuries taking place in the delivery room.
This seems to be coming up with great frequency.
    Thanks!

    Nancy,
Very nice! Thanks for accomplishing this.  I would love to see information presented on actual outcomes as children grow. For specific issues, what really happens (such as dysphagia, how many really become oral feeders and what were the factors that influenced the outcome). There are many problems and many interventions, and it would be nice to have information on what is realistic to expect at different future age-points, like teen, young adult, older adult.
