    Hello Folks

I was a very satisfied user of Randall THomas' LCP Stat software for many years.  It was tough to learn that Randall was no longer updating and supporting his marvelous program. Shopping now for a replacement and seeking recommendations for alternative LCP software packages. Would apprceiate any suggestions, recco, cautions, etc...

Please feel free to email me privately if you so choose

    Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if I have a learning disorder when it comes to using LCP software, but...

I have paid for 2 (maybe 3?) different ones in the last 20-some years.  And the only thing that seems to work for me is the tables in Word.  Which means, yes, the math is done more or less 'by hand.'  What we actually do is do the math via adding machine and using Excel charts to double check.

I find that's the only way I can individualize the words and numbers to come out saying what I'd like them to say.

More and more often, I use Excel charts inserted into Word documents to display general numbers or categories (including in Vocational reports to list job histories or earnings).  But I still find the Word tables work best for me for Life Care Plan charts.

So glad to hear Patty's comment.  We use Word charts too; it has been easier and ultimately less work than other methods.  I too would be interested to hear if someone has a better approach.

Randall sold his software company to Randall Nichols...he was at the last LCP conference in Denver and will be at the next one in Atlanta.   I just purchased the update today.  I am also buying all new computers and updated Microsoft software before January 2014, Microsoft will stop supporting everything before "7"...so there gos my XP and a new learning curve.  You can find out more at    http://www.lcpstat.com

Here are a few features of the new LCP STAT

!. Global Resources:gives you access to any resource you've input without requiring you to completely abandon your current plan to locate it. Resources, Contacts, and the Dashboard are ready and waiting for you whenever you need it, saving you lots of valuable time.

2.With LCP Stat 10 you now have easier access to Vendor info no matter where you are within the app.  This means that whenever you need to look up a Vendor contact to get a price for an item or you need to schedule an appointment with a doctor, all you have to do is click the toolbar and you're there.

3.Sometimes lots of options is a good thing, but most of the time it just isn't.  Too many choices and you just get overwhelmed.  Wouldn't it be great if you had your most critical report options right at your  fingertips and let the other stuff take a holiday?  Well, now you can.  When you're ready to create a report, simply choose Export and select the PDF or print option you need from and easy to digest drop down menu.

    4. Smart Organization  Don't you hate it when you save a PDF and your're just not sure where it went?  You spend valuable time searching for it and you just get so darn frustrated.  Well, the Export to PDF feature in LCP Stat 10 helps eliminate your frustrations by automating the storage and organization of all you Plans.  When you Export to PDF Stat 10 intelligently organizes your plans for you in your document folder by the name of your client.

    5. Of course there is the calculation features, the choice of reports, the check method to make sure you are not double billing on items that over lapping in your LCP...there is just no comparison....I love this thing...its a beauty.

    Thanks Ron

Are the 5 features you listed your comments or are they from LCP stat 10 sales material?

Particularly #5 " I love this thing" , is that your comment?

    Thanks

    Jack,

Yes I have used this software since 1995 so yes I love using this software.  As to the newest version, I just purchased it and will be installing the software in all my new Computers that I will also be setting up this week.... including the other related software.  Sounded like you were only interested in what I love (I  have yet to experiment with the new version)...so yes the other comments were thoughts that the new owner shared with me...and if they are all true...this is one Cadillac piece of equipment.  I am going on vacation to Southern Italy in another week and wont be able to provide you feed back on the new version for a couple months...but once I get going on it again I will share some feedback to the you and the group.
