Dear ISLCP attendees- Contact David Stewart if interested.

    From David-

Some of the ISLCP attendees and I are planning to tour Chickamauga National Battlefield on the Monday (September 30) following conclusion of this year's conference; and I thought it might be a good idea to open this event up to any other ISLCP attendees who are interested. For the past 10 years my hobby has been taking people on tours of American Civil War battlefields. Just this past week I led a tour a tour of Civil War sites in Richmond and Lexington, Virginia. Chickamauga was one of the largest battles of the American Civil War; it occurred 150 years ago in September 1863. The battlefield is very picturesque and is located in mountains near the great bend of the Tennessee River at Chattanooga. We will retain the services of a tour guide who will point out landmarks and explain key parts of the battlefield to us. I visited Chickamauga National Battlefield with a guide about four years ago and found it extremely interesting. I am mentioning this to you now in the hope that this information can be disseminated to ISLCP attendees with enough advance notice that those who wish to do so can make plans to participate in the Chickamauga tour. It will take the majority of the day on Monday - the Chickamauga Battlefield is about 1 hour and 40 minutes north of Atlanta. For more information about my tours you are also invited to visit www.shilohcivilwartours.com.

Thank you for giving this event your consideration. I will, of course, be happy to give a detailed itinerary along with the tour fees which you can publish for those who may have interest.
