Interesting facts regarding the Early indicators of prognosis in severe TBI. As always, research and information should be used as a tool for better understanding.

Interesting - a systolic BP < 90 and at time a degree of anemia is frequently observed status post surgery. The difference here is there is supplemented O2 allowing oxygen perfusion to the brain.

Question, does anyone know if mild to moderate brain injury associated with a any systemic insult (hypoxia, hypotension (systolic BP < 90), anemia, hypercarbia, can effect of cognitive function? I cannot see how it would not.

    Any research would be appreciated.

    Franny:

I am not quite sure which one you are referring to.  Attached are all of the articles we have listed in FormPro that have "life care plan" as part of them.  If one of them is not what you are looking for, please advise the name of it and we will add to our database.

    Thanks.

The JLCP has published at least 2 articles on reliability of LCPs:

Sutton, A., Deutsch, P., Weed, R., & Berens, D. (2002). Reliability of Life Care Plans: A Comparison of Original and Updated Plans. Journal of Life Care Planning, 1(3), 187-194.

Kendall, S., & Casuto, D. (2005).  A Quantitative reappraisal of a qualitative survey to assess reliability and validity of
                the life care planning process.
Journal of Life Care Planning, 4(2&3), 75-98.

    Hope that helps.

You're welcome!  Any budding authors out there looking for a valuable topic to research and write about?  These 2 articles could easily be replicated and updated to give the Life Care Planning community even more data and peer reviewed literature.
