IARP Community I attended Brian's celebration of life today in Durham NC. Mike Weaver of Learning Services spoke about his tremendous contributions to the TBI population. Mike Weaver explained LS was expanding their Raleigh programing and naming a buillding The Brian Preston House. His father read a poem he had written at Brian's birth. A song written by Brian was performed. It was obvious he as truly special and has left a meaningful legacy behind. ------------------------------------------- Lori Cowan President lcowan@cowancounseling.com Midlothian, VA United States -------------------------------------------

It was a wonderful tribute to Brian. Mike did an excellent job of highlighting Brian's contributions to IARP and how much it meant to him that a keynote at the PR conference will be sponsored in his honor.  Although Abby struggled to speak, her words were so moving and she is a beautiful young woman.  The poem that Brian's father read was something he wrote at Brian's birth....he also read Brian's last post on Caring Bridge (on transcending), which of course, touched us all.

I did not get a chance to speak publicly (no one did) but made a point of talking to Mia and Brian's family after the service and will be sending what I've written to them.

The gathering music was "Camel's Dance" (Freehand) and the Postlude, "Three Little Birds"  (Bob Marley).....very direct and specific requests from Brian.

May Brian live on in the warm memories we have of him!
