Candidate: Debbie Marcinko

1. Describe your qualifications for the position.

I bring 26 years experience in medical case management, rehabilitation counseling, and Life Care Planning with experience in the private sector and private practice to this position. I have been active in several professional organizations and am in a unique position to appreciate the various disciplines, their perspectives and the challenges encountered in rehabilitation and Life Care Planning.
 
Being a member of other professional organizations brings with it experience in varying organizational structures and function that can be used to further refine our organization.  I have been an active member of IARP, and have served on the IALCP annual conference committee for the past 3 years, and am currently a Member at Large for the IALCP section.  


2. What do you hope to accomplish during your term if elected?

I hope to continue to improve and expand our educational opportunities assuring we are meeting the needs and goals of the membership, providing the resources needed to maintain a high standard performance and of professionalism.  I want to assure our membership has timely, useful data accessible from a variety of sources. I would like to see more opportunities for sharing, networking and mentoring to grow, retain and advance the IALCP section.  

I would like to continue to strengthen our profession through cooperative relationships with academic institutions, educational programs and other organizations that provide education and certification in Life Care Planning.

 
3. What is your vision for IARP during your term?

Strengthen the profession of Life Care Planning through ongoing research, collaboration and an openness for discussion of common issues and differences.
Maintain and grow the standard of professionalism in Life Care Planning.  
Provide service to our members by providing education and information, including case law impacting Life Care Planning.
Promote an environment where all members feel welcome, and can comfortably network, debate, and become involved in the organization.
