John Orphanidys Scholarship

The John A. Orphanidys Scholarship Fund was established in 2013 by the IARP-Florida Chapter, following John’s passing on September 25, 2013, in his honor.  John was always a great supporter of the younger professionals entering the profession.

John was the recipient of the 3rd annual Bart Hultine Altruism Fund, Inc. (BHAF-a non-profit organization), “Excellence in Vocational Rehabilitation” Award and Stipend that was announced at the 2013 Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) 2013 Forensic Conference, in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday, November 9, 2013. John’s wife, Jeanna and daughter Katie Orphanidys were present to receive the award. The $500 award was donated back to IARP-Florida by Jeanna and Katie, to establish the Florida John A. Orphanidys Scholarship Fund.

The objective of the annual scholarship award is to encourage rehabilitation graduate school students, to enter the field of private rehabilitation.  The annual scholarship winner is provided an all expense paid trip to the fall IARP National conference.  Runner-ups are provided IARP memberships.
