Dear WA-IARP Members:
Soon, the WA-IARP Board will be calling for nominations of individuals to serve as Board members for the 2013-2014 term. We are also looking for people who may wish to serve on this year's Fall conference committee.
You may have served on the Board in the past and after taking a respite, be interested in jumping back in. If that's the case, you are most welcome! If you have never served on the Board, please consider the following benefits.
Serving is an excellent way in which you can play a vital role in the future of your organization and the rehabilitation industry in Washington. WA-IARP has become a leading influence in this state's rehabilitation community, as it has across the country, and you have the opportunity to become an integral part of the continuing growth in the coming year.
Holding a Board position in our chapter has benefits that include:
Shaping Washington IARP destiny
- Being of service to your association and the rehabilitation community
- Recognition by your peers and others as a professional willing to donate time and energy to his/her profession
- The opportunity to interact with other IARP chapters as well as international headquarters
- Advance copies of international information about our profession from IARP headquarters
- The opportunity to interact with L&I on crucial issues that shape both public policy and your profession
Now is the time to BECOME A PLAYER RATHER THAN A WATCHER!
Please let someone know that you are interested in being part of the 2013-2014 Washington IARP leadership team. Also, contact another member that you know would be an asset and suggest to them they consider running for a Board position. Often, people are very willing to volunteer when they are invited. You may also know people who would really like to run for a position but don't want to nominate themselves.
If you would like more information about what it means to either serve as a Board member or on a Board committee, please call me at 253-472-7844 and I would be happy to visit with you.
Respectfully,
Chris Fascilla
