Enrique N. Vega, M.S., CRC, CDMS is a board certified rehabilitation counselor, certified disability management specialist, a certified rehabilitation counselor by the U.S. Department of Labor, and a vocational expert under contract with the Social Security Administration. He is past president of the California chapter of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) 2008 - 2010 and also served as board member in the disability management (DM) section of IARP. He has also served on the boards of the California Association of Rehabilitation and Re-employment Professionals (CARRP), and the Organization of Bilingual Rehabilitation Associates (OBRA). Mr. Vega has written articles on issues related to employment of persons with disabilities on several issues of CARRP’s Keeping California Working newsletter. He is co-editor of the 2008 Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) Study Guide published by Elliot & Fitzpatrick. He is a presenter and lecturer on career, employment, and earnings issues related to persons with disabilities. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Rehabilitation Association, the Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Association, the National Workforce Development Professionals, and the American Board of Vocational Experts. He has an active practice developing vocational rehabilitation plans and doing job placement of persons with disabilities for the federal Office of Workers’ Compensation Program (OWCP), the Social Security Administration’s Ticket-to-Work program, and the California state worker’s compensation programs. Mr. Vega has offices and serves Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in Southern California. He has testified at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board throughout California.
Mr. Vega holds a master’s of science degree in counseling with an emphasis in rehabilitation counseling from California State University, Los Angeles, and an undergraduate degree from Yale University in Comparative Literature.
