I began my journey after graduating with a bachelor's in the science of nursing at Brenau Univerity in 1995, became a board-certified registered nurse in 1995, and began my career. My clinical experience is in medical-surgical care, emergency department care, mobile intensive care, post-anesthesia care, and trauma. Working for American Medical Response (AMR) as a mobile intensive care nurse, my curiosity grew beyond the beside. In 2004, I completed a certificate program in legal nurse consulting from the University of California San Deigo extension program.
Since 2009. I have worked with both plaintiff and defense firms reviewing and analyzing complex medical-legal cases and on occasion as a fact witness during a trial. I am Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) and a proud member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). I have spent six years as a volunteer member on the board of directors and a past president of the organization.
During the COVOD-19 crisis, I began working for Research and Planning Consultants writing medical summaries to support Life Care Plans. I never want to stop learning and growing personally and professionally. I am very proud to say in April 2021, I officially became a Certified Nurse Life Care Planner (CNLCP) and a member of the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (AANLCP).
I am excited to be a part of IARP and learn new skills, and information.
