Dr. Thomas Bott is the owner of Thomas E. Bott and Associates Inc., a private medical case management and rehabilitation counseling company that provides rehabilitation services to injured and disabled individuals. Dr. Bott holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s of science degree in rehabilitation counseling, both from the University of Wisconsin. In 2015 he earned a PhD in health psychology fromCapella University, having graduated with honors. Dr. Bott is a board Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a board Certified Case Manager. He is a licensed rehabilitation counselor and a licensed professional counselor in the state of Louisiana.
Dr. Bott has 36 years of experience in private rehabilitation counseling practice. He founded Thomas E. Bott and Associates Inc. in 1988. Prior to entering his own practice, from 1983 to 1988, Dr. Bott was employed by a nationwide risk management and rehabilitation company achieving the position of branch manager. While in that position, he acquired substantial supervisory and business management training and experience. From 1981 to 1983, he worked as a rehabilitation counselor for an independent contractor with a small private rehabilitation firm based in Wisconsin.
Dr. Bott has a proven track record providing high quality case management and vocational rehabilitation services to disabled persons as well as serving as a consultant and expert witness in cases undergoing litigation. He has experience working with both plaintiff and defense in worker’s compensation and in personal injury matters. He is skilled in areas that include case management, vocational testing, vocational assessment, job analysis, job modifications, job placement assistance, medical cost projections, wage loss assessment and expert testimony. He has had extensive experience as a vocational expert witness in Social Security Disability appeals hearings through the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.
Dr. Bott is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and the Louisiana Association of Rehabilitation Professionals. He has served as a board member for the Louisiana Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and he is currently serving as a vice-chairperson for the Louisiana Licensed Professional Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors Board of Examiners.
