On top of that, there are too many college graduates. A huge percentage of college graduates work in occupations not requiring a degree, are/get angry about their situation/leave and employers are sick of them. Getting in the weeds a bit tangential, but would that not logically enhance opportunity for older workers with established work histories/ethics. So notwithstanding being a bit of a social worky bleeding heart (or at least a moderate old D, who abhors the blatant sociopathy and lack empathy of the Project 2025ers) there is a lot to think about here if we want to be fair and realistic. And since so many VEs made what is in my view a silly business decision to put all eggs in one basket, I am never so sure that all of us want to be fair and realistic. Plus, as it relates to DOT it is ridiculous that if the government did not want to update it, and that we had 30+ years and thousands of VEs, CRCs, job developers to divvy the chore up that we did essentially nothing to do it ourselves as we, not the government, are the experts.
