I recently retired but I can't help thinking about this VE thing we do. In life in general I encounter the ultra- right-wing types/concept that most any government statistic is automatically "fake news" or otherwise not to be relied upon. It seems to be an in-vogue goofy way to automatically trash any statistically supported argument about anything. I am wondering whether VEs are increasingly encountering such blow back garbage directly or indirectly from evaluees, clients, attorneys, triers of fact, rolling of the eye from jurors, etc. I always tried to do at least some LMS to supplement government stats in part to prepare for nonsensical questions about data. (Yes, I know many VEs who are not so hot at or too lazy to do employer calls say such calls are allegedly "impossible" which to anyone skilled at such is seen as BS). Anyway, wondering and thought this could be an interesting discussion.
