As your friendly government relations person (ok, maybe not always friendly, depends upon how much caffeine I have had), we recognize that the ongoing government shutdown has created challenges and uncertainty for many across the rehabilitation community. As many of you are aware, the Office of Special Education and the Rehabilitation Services Administration were hit hard by the Reduction in Force (RIFs) that went out on Friday. We know that for some, this situation is directly affecting work, funding, and the individuals and families you serve.
We want you to know that we are closely monitoring the situation and will share any key updates with our members as they become available. Thank you for all that you do to advance the mission of rehabilitation and to make a difference in the lives of others.
