Every October, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) observes National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities. DOL is committed to becoming a model employer of people with disabilities. To address the employment barriers these individuals face, several DOL agencies assist people with disabilities in seeking meaningful work and succeeding once on the job. The theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2023 is "Advancing Access and Equity," emphasizing the importance of ensuring disabled people have equal opportunities to prepare for and succeed in employment.
