You are a very wise fellow, Jeff. It can be a real nightmare, unless it can be pro-bono. People/family with money often don't like to spend it, which is why they have so much. Problem is that a lay person has a very difficult time with understanding how very much time/$$ it takes an expert to do an excellent job. I'm not sure I've ever had an easy case. Hack, quickie, boilerplate junk jobs of course abound in our field as all expert fields, but are a bargain for no evaluee and no attorney. The expert does good work to X point of exhausting the hours the flat fee represents then naturally, by human nature, sets it all into autopilot cutting corners on everything from that point on, hoping no one notices.

Subject: LTD Evaluation: VE Needed
Hello,
I received a phone call yesterday from an individual residing in Florida in a LTD matter. She seeks a VE for an appeal in her LTD claim. She has 180 days and is not represented by an attorney.
While I do this type of work, it is my business practice not to accept work from individual's who do not have legal representation. I would like to refer them to an experienced individual. Send an email to me at jeffrey.joy@vocationaldynamics.com and I will forward your contact information within the next day (6/9/22).
