We are excited to host the IALCP symposium and IARP conference this year in Fort Worth! Our national conference will have great presenters and presentations on relevant topics in our industry. Here are a few good ones to look forward to:
History & Ethics of Vocational Testing (302) is a presentation by Dr. Rachita Sharma, Ph.D., CRC, LPC-S. Her presentation will focus on vocational testing including types of testing, selection of testing as well as the ethical considerations in administration and interpretation of test results. Dr. Sharma is the current Chair at the University of North Texas, Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services. She also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in their rehabilitation counseling program and provides supervision for their clinical training graduate students.
Self-Care as an Ethical Mandate (703) is a presentation by Dr. Kim Nguyen-Finn, Ph.D., LPC-S which reminds us as service professionals that we have to care for ourselves as well. We provide counseling and support to our clients, and oftentimes neglect ourselves during our work. Dr. Finn informs us of the ethical duty of self-care for rehabilitation professionals. DR. Nguyen-Finn is a lecturer at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in the School of Rehabilitation Services and Counseling. She also serves as Consulting Counselor at UTRGV's Office of Advocacy and Violence Prevention.
I hope to see many of you in Fort Worth, TX, where we can re-connect in person, stay up to date, and learn from peers and leaders in our field.
