The BASSQ was developed from evaluating and adapting the content of a variety of computer competency standards listed on the first page of the form. Therefore, the BASSQ is open access, as were the availability of the standards, to help identify basic computer literacy skills in the following areas: keyboarding, mousing, computer concepts, file management, Internet & security, and email usage.
