2. What do you hope to accomplish during your term if elected?

While my formal education in Rehabilitation Counseling has provided me with a strong foundation, IARP and the Forensic Section have played a significant part in furthering my career and helping me to become an effective and confident rehabilitation professional.

As Chair (elect), I hope to learn about the issues that are most important to forensic community and forensic board and how to best respond to those issues so that when I move into the Chair position the following year, I will be in a better position to continue that leadership and follow through with those projects in progress.  I hope to develop a strong professional relationship with the forensic board members so that, as a team, we can address those issues, as well as new issues, important to the forensic community and forensic board.

3. What is your vision for IARP during your term?

Becoming the Chair (elect) of the IARP/Forensic Section would not only be a great honor; it would entail the very significant responsibility of stewarding the organization, of fostering its growth and development without tampering with the progress made by so many people over the past years.

My vision for the IARP/Forensic Section is based on the goals of IARP and its forensic interests.  I see the organization continuing to foster the exchange of ideas, encouraging the discussion of forensic rehabilitation through getting people engaged and participating.

I see the organization continuing to promote the advancement of the forensic rehabilitation research, individual growth and professional development, so that our profession remains current with the needs of the litigation community and pro-active in its analysis of the vocational rehabilitation, medical care/life care plan and economic components of civil litigation.

I highly recommend Burt Ashman as the Forensic Section Chair Elect. Burt has served the Louisiana IARP chapter well, which has prepared him well for a national leadership position. There is no doubt he will serve the section and the IARP very well.
