Registration is now available to sign up for our next virtual event that will be held on Thursday, October 14th from 10:00 – 12:15 for a Washington IARP sponsored webinar on the topic: Transforming Communication with Clients: Cultural Humility, Empathy, and Compassion.
This event is available for FREE via Zoom and 2.25 CEUs will be provided for CDMS, CRC, and ABE.
Presenters, Jennifer Bowes, Dana Brickham, and Brett Kuwada will help us understand the Cultural Humility, Empathy, and Compassion (CHEC) model (Kuwada, 2015) for communicating with clients who hold multiple minoritized identities. Vickie Kennedy and Ryan Guppy, from the Department of Labor & Industries, will also be joining us for this collaborative presentation.
This will be an interactive presentation, where participants will learn a new framework for having more meaningful communication with clients using the CHEC model. Participants will have opportunities to apply and practice skills in dyad conversations.
Please note: The webinar is scheduled for 10 – 12:15. Staying the whole time will allow participants to earn the CEUs for the presentation. Reminder that this will be an interactive presentation that involves break-out room participation from attendees during the presentation. Come ready to learn and participate!
Following the formal presentation, there will be an extra 30 minutes available to all participants who opt to stay on after the presentation ends. The extra 30 minute session will take place from 12:15 to 12:45 and will include extra practice time for skills learned during the presentation, facilitated by Dr. Brett Kuwada, Jennifer Bowes, and Dr. Dana Brickham. If you plan to stay for this extra time, please stay on the zoom meeting.
