I wanted to provide a quick update on the merger. The process continues and is very much on a continuum, meaning there isn't a single point in time when I can say the NY Chapter is dissolved. The NY chapter bank account is now closed, and I am sending the balance to the New England Chapter treasurer this week. The New England Chapter name will be changed to the Northeast Chapter to encompass NY.
Frank Lindner, the NY Treasurer and I will serve on the Northeast Board for the first term. Linda Vause will serve as a Member at Large (MAL) member. All three of us will be up in the spring of 2025. When elections come around, any NY members are welcome to run for either a board seat ( two-year term) or MAL ( one-year term) seat.
If any current NY Chapter members are due to renew their IARP membership, reach out to me first. Because the NY chapter bank account is closed, there isn't a place for the chapter direct-deposits to go. I should know in the next week or so, if NY members can choose the Northeast Chapter for chapter dues.
