  • Hello from the Michigan IARP Board

    Hello Fellow Michigan IARP Members:

This past year has been an unusual year, as I am sure you all have experienced.

Your Michigan IARP Board would like input from you regarding training topics of need or interest during the upcoming calendar year.  We are committed to hosting at least one training opportunity for our members and would like your input. While we have our own ideas, we would like to hear about ideas you might have that could enhance our collective knowledge and practice of rehabilitation counseling in the private sector in 2021.

We have been exploring the following topics for webinar in 2021:

    1. The Occupational Requirements Survey; a huge labor market survey database being developed by the Social Security Administration in conjunction with the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
    2. Expert witness skill development.
    3. Privileged Vs. Confidential Communications.
    4. Auto- No- Fault Updates.
    5. Implicit Bias Training.

The Michigan IARP board would like to hear your thoughts on these topic ideas, and/or any other ideas for educational topics you feel would enhance your practice skills.

Your Michigan IARP Board is also seeking candidates for both at-large and Executive Board openings, which include Secretary and President-elect.  Board meetings occur monthly via teleconference.   If interested, please contact me directly.

Please consider getting involved with your professional association.  We need your skills, experience, ideas, and participating on the Board is a great way to expand your professional network.  We look forward to hearing from many of you!

    Best regards,

    Sincerely,
