Yesterday and actually, the past weekend has been pretty historical for the IARP community and also for some students, members and now the whole world! IARP now has a Facebook Page!! The Social media group met yesterday for the first time and how special to have the input of some of the students who are making decisions related to " I am in Vocational Rehab....what do I do? What can I do? and....Who do I ask?"
Facebook will provide a more informal venue for those who may want to "message..LOL" see pictures of conferences, try to figure out who does what, in a manner that is comfortable for many. It is also uncomfortable and "off-limits" for many who really don't want to know "all that much" about everyone. WHATEVER....the choice is yours, BUT the big questions they were asking are about the different opportunities available to them. They expressed a desire to hear about "STUFF" that we do. What is involved with LOE and divorce law, FEMA? FELA?? ( what not the same?) Longshore is not the same as LONG BEACH... etc.
One of the features that will likely be found on the IARP FB page is "I Am IARP" in order to help them connect with people who are actually in the business of Vocational Rehabilitation. We would really like your input as to other ways or things that could be featured to stimulate activity, visits to the site and open the communication lines for everyone.
We would love to have your discussion and ideas! If you are not on FB, you can access the IARP page through the IARP website.
Thanks!
Paulette
