    January 9 – Vocational Evaluations in VA Claims, presented by Nicholas Briggs, Michael Lostritto, & Rachel Foster
    This presentation will provide an overview of individual unemployability, what VA can and cannot consider in adjudicating these claims, and how vocational opinions may be used within the context of a Veteran's appeal. Topics for general discussion will include service-connected disabilities, how VA defines substantially gainful employment, and the importance of describing functional limitations within the context of the Veteran's vocational and educational history.

    February 13 – Online Counseling and Social Media: Rehabilitation Counselors face new ethical issues in 2017, presented by Mary Handley, PhD, CRC, LMHC
    This presentation will review he new 2017 Code of Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors, focusing on new/changed areas in the code, and also on potential ethical issues related to the misuse of social media. Online Counseling and its ethical components will also be addressed.

    March 13 – Absence Management & Return to Work Programs in Corporate Settings, Presented by Angela Eskandar MS, CRC
    This presentation will look at employee absence from an employer's perspective. We will discuss some common challenges that employers face in managing time off programs, sick leave laws, state and federal leaves, disability, and lost time associated with a Workers' Compensation injury. There will be a focus on the valuable insight that a VRC can bring to organizations to establish and manage programs to assist employees in staying at work or returning to work at the right time. The presentation will highlight the important role that data analysis and trending reports have on uncovering the key absence drivers in an organization.
