Federal Action Opens New Practice Opportunity

Transition planning for all high school age students in special education is now mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Assessments of a student’s vocational and community participation abilities are mandated as part of the transition planning. Presently, there is a shortage of vocational rehabilitation professionals trained to assess and work with special education students. In light of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Grant and the Presidential and Congressional emphasis on providing quality assessments and transition services to youth and adolescents ages 14-22. IARP is pleased to offer an in-depth training program on this timely topic.

This comprehensive, two and a half day program is designed for Master’s level rehabilitation practitioners who want to advance their skills and knowledge in transition services. We will give you the tools to assess and work with special education students and parents and the special education system upon completion of the training.
