Good morning, All.
Am trying to determine the best method for a dentist to upgrade her skills. This dentist graduated in 1982 and practiced for many years before stopping to raise a family. She has maintained her CEU's via professional development opportunities and has also maintained her dental license. On a volunteer basis she has been doing oral exams for the National Guard but that is the only dental work she has done for many years.
She is interested in relocating to Massachusetts from a state that has dental license reciprocity but she is concerned that she needs to upgrade her general dentistry skills. I have attempted to contact the dental schools at Boston Univ, Tufts and Harvard to no avail. I am quite amazed at how difficult it is to get through to these schools. And when I tell them what I'm looking for in terms upgrading skills for a returning dentist, they appear to have nothing to offer.
So I turn to our learned group to inquire whether anyone has had a similar quest and has had success finding a suitable opportunity for upgrading dental skills. Am thinking the next step might be hiring-on with a dentist who would be willing to help her upgrade her general dentistry skills. Any thoughts/experience in that regard?
