    Ms. Hildebrand,

There are several sites and texts to get this information but The Amputee Coalition of America has a really good article on basic timeline of the first 12-months and what to expect. Each amputation is unique to the individual and the circumstances pertaining to the cause. Currently there has not been research published specifically on the BiOM Ankle/Foot. There are several factors that play a role in the success of the prosthetic wearer. One key factor is the socket fit and suspension and the second would be the programming of the BiOM. They both play off each other. The BiOM can only be successful if the fit of the socket is good. Biom/Hugh Herr have published a considerable amount on the BiOM. The problem they are the originators of the BiOM.
