    Good evening, All.

Am wondering if there are guidelines pertaining to recovery from a BK amputation.

Specifically, injury was sustained approximately 18 months ago.  There have been some complications with osteomyelitis that now appear to have resolved.  Individual had been using a mechanical prosthetic but very recently received a Biom foot-ankle device and is very excited about how much more movement it provides.  PT will start soon.

I'd like to know if there is an 'average/expected' timeframe for an individual to maximize his/her function with such a device.  And, if so, is there a source I can consult for that information?

You can research medical guidelines online at www.mdguidelines.com or at www.odg-twc.com.  The information presented is based on AECOM studies of recovery, recommended medical treatments and RTW guidelines.
