    Hello all,
My name is Abby Akande and I am a current doctoral candidate in the rehabilitation counseling program at the University of Arizona. I am in the recruitment phase of my dissertation research and am hoping that you can help. Please read below and let me know if you are interested in participating or if you know anyone who might be. Please feel free to forward this message to colleagues/students, thanks so much!

    Dear Prospective Participant,

I hope that this email finds you well. I am in the process of recruiting potential participants for my dissertation research and am seeking a specific group of Rehabilitation Counselors to interview for approximately 60 minutes. I am in Tucson, but the counselors can reside and work anywhere in the U.S., so long as they are willing to be interviewed over the phone or via Skype. It is of particular importance for the study that the counselor has provided services to immigrant women with disabilities.

The interview style for this study is narrative inquiry, which is a story-telling format. Upon completion of the interview, participants will be compensated for their time and input. If you are able and willing to participate, please contact Abigail Akande at AAkande@email.arizona.edu for more information or to proceed with the short screening process. Please feel free to pass this email along to any colleagues who may be eligible and interested, through February 2014. Thank you and have a great day.

(An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.)

Abigail, Some clarification for me would be helpful. Over the years I've provided services to women who are immigrants, or who immigrated to the US and became citizens. Are you referring to this group of clients, or to a specific caseload of solely immigrant women? Jill Brown

    Hi Jill,
Thanks for inquiring. The entire caseload does not need to have been immigrant women. I will be inquiring about specific cases, so even if it was just one woman, that's fine. The screening questionnaire will clarify, thanks.
