Here is an exchange of e-mails bewteen IARP President Steve Shedlin and a new professional member Arnaldo Leonard, a previous IARP student member.  Perhaps someone can answer Arnaldo.

    Dear Arnaldo:

Your e-mail to Kim Strawman was forwarded my way, so, as IARP President, I wanted to add my congrtatulations to the mix on your becoming a CRC and a full member of IARP.  Hopefully you will take advantage of our conferences, journals, webinars and discussion groups, as well as the offerings from your state chapter (if you have one, I am uncertain as to where you reside).  I'm delighted that you chose to inform us of your status and hope that you will be an active member of our association.  We are always eager to hear the thoughts of our younger members, so please stay in touch.  Again, congratulationson your important accomplishment.

    Regards,

    Steve

    Greetings Ms Kim Strawman ,

Congradulation on winning your recent post within the Case Management Board.

Im a newly minted MEd, CRC, as of this May 5, 2012 when i graduated from FAU University in Boca Raton Florida.  I am hoping you can assist me in a matter.  I am trying to pursue penetrating the workers comp (medical and vocational case managemnt arena). I've attended 2 IARP conferences so far in South Florida ( nov. 18 W/C Claims Conf & the April 25 W/C wkshop).   A few IARP members have suggested I should attempt to subcontract with an independent contractor, to initially learn the ropes.   However i don't know  what the specific industry paperwork should look like or where to look to prep myself for a subcontractor role.

I am fully versed in reemployment assessments, reemployment service delivery and job placement and how to communicate those on government submittal reports but Im unfamiliar with the private sector forms and reporting procedures.

Can IARP or yourself direct me in a direction? Is there a WebAnair Series on the paperwork requirements in this area? In the IARP Library?

During the April 25 conference i attended, the lobbiest Fausto address the audience on the details of the Rehabilitation Credentials moving from the Dept. of Education to the Dept of Finance.  I have no clue on who sets the policy, procedural forms, report guidelines for how Case Managers, Employers, Insurance Carriers, and THird Party Administrators are mandated to communicate to each other on a workers injury case in the private sector.  Florida Division of Workers Comp? The Worker's Comp field itself? The Fed? Some Association or Body?

Would greatly appreciate any direction, advice you can give to a new face to IARP.

    Thank you so Much,

    E. Arnaldo Leonard
