The national IARP board met <st1:date Month="3" Day="9" Year="2012">March 9, 2012</st1:date> in <st1:City><st1:place>New Orleans</st1:place></st1:City>. The meeting was productive and several issues were discussed including; how to increase and maintain membership, IARP marketing plan, the merger of CM/DM section, upcoming elections and the "newly" designed and more user friendly IARP Website
The following day IARP held the first Chapter leadership meeting and 23 of the 29 chapters were in attendance. This was a great opportunity for chapters to share their experiences in running local chapter meetings, servicing members and provide training to the chapters on the role and functions of chapter leadership.
The goal to merge/unite CM section and DM section is progressing, we have established timeline of transitioning to the "new" combined section with the 2013 elections, board members from the CM and DM sections are included on each others section teleconferences to maintain continuity. We are seeking a name for the combined section and your input regarding the name is greatly appreciated.
CM has a list serve and we would like to increase its utilization among members, this is an important member benefit and we would like all CM members to be able to share resources, ask questions and provide peer support through the CM connect community. Please encourage your colleagues to utilize the site.
Marcos Molinar continues to work on the pilot career counseling program and this will be of great use to all CM members.
By now you should have all received an electronic election ballot, please vote for your candidate of choice on the case management and executive board.
The conference committee is working diligently on the 2012 International Conference in <st1:City><st1:place>San Juan</st1:place></st1:City>, <st1:place>Puerto Rico</st1:place> <st1:date Month="10" Day="25" Year="2012">October 25-27, 2012</st1:date>. This marks our return to the IARP multi-section conference and there will be exciting presentations in Case Management, Disability Management, Life Care Planning, Forensics, and Social Security Vocational Testimony. The conference should be fun, educational and an exciting way to get CEU's in a carribean paradise.
Don't forget that all IARP members can access the free ethics webinar through the IARP website www.rehabpro.org as well as access a variety archived webinars.
We value your comments and participation with the CM section.
