Call for Nominations Foundation for Life Planning and Rehabilitation Research Awards

FLCPRR is please to announce that nominations are open for four (4) awards.  Nominations will be open year-round, and you may nominate yourself or a colleague. Please note that awards will be presented at the annual IARP conference. Nominations received at least four (4) weeks prior to the 2021 conference will be considered for this year; those received after the deadline will be saved until next year.  Beginning in 2022, nominations must be received eight (8) weeks prior to the conference. The descriptions of the awards are:

 

Patricia McCollom/FLCPRR Research Award

The Patricia McCollom Research Award encourages individuals to expand the body of knowledge through research in life care planning and/or rehabilitation services.

Eligibility/Criteria

  • An individual who is experienced and has done research before
  • The individual’s research is to have made a significant contribution to:
    • the body of literature in life care planning and/or rehabilitation services
    • the lives and well-being of people with disabilities
  • Research that:
    • Meets the highest standards of design, methodology, and analysis
    • Contributes to the field of life care planning and/or rehabilitation
    • Provides meaningful data that can be applied directly to life care planning and/or rehabilitation practice
    • Is written in a manner that can be submitted for publication and/or presentation

Sheri Jasper Memorial Recognition Award

 

The Sheri Jasper Recognition Award is given to an individual who exemplifies the consummate professional and who is a positive influence in the advanced specialty practice of life care planning and/or rehabilitation services.

Eligibility/Criteria

  • Evidences a consistent positive, supportive, friendly and encouraging attitude toward colleagues.
  • Seeks out new professionals at conferences and facilitates introductions to others to help begin the networking process.
  • Exemplifies a willingness to go the extra mile with good humor and perseverance (such as helping staff at conferences by volunteering or assisting in resolving problems).
  • Mentors others without expectation for personal gain.
  • Is a model for others in promoting and advancing specialty practice in positive ways, such as offering new visions, developing new concepts or practices, serving on committees, collaborating with others, etc.
  • Supporting the goals and mission of the Foundation for Life Care Planning and Rehabilitation Research

Eligibility/Criteria

  • An individual who is learning about doing research and has completed a project that meets standards for publication and/or presentation

Paul Deutsch Professional Development Award

This award recognizes someone who promotes and actively develops new scholars who will contribute to research in the field of life care planning and/or rehabilitation services.

Eligibility/Criteria

  • An individual who has provided training, education, or mentoring to others doing research
  • The individual may formally be an educator or may be a colleague
  • Under the individual’s guidance, at least one research project has been successfully completed
