Here is a News Brief recently released by CRCC....
Background
In October 2013, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) and its corporate affiliate the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) released new Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (CLRC) standards for immediate use by masters-level counseling programs seeking accreditation.
In addition to the new CLRC standards, CACREP released a revised set of CLRC standards that are incorporated into Draft #2 of the 2016 CACREP Standards. As part of its ongoing standards revision project, CACREP invited public comment on Draft #2 of the 2016 CACREP Standards.
CRCC Submits Comments on 2016 CACREP Standards
In January 2014, CRCC submitted comments on Draft #2 of the 2016 CACREP Standards. The comments recommended additional language to Sections I and III of the 2016 Standards to address faculty and supervisor qualifications, and to the CLRC sub-section to reflect the competencies that are vital for clinical rehabilitation counselors. To review, go to CRCC's comments on the 2016 CACREP Standards.
CRCC will continue to provide feedback to CACREP as the opportunities present themselves. We will also keep our CRCs informed of any further developments.
Sincerely,
Cindy A. Chapman, CAE
