The IARP Board of Directors has approved President Lynne Tracy’s appointment of Beverly Olsen to serve as chair of the IARP Council of Presidents for the remainder of Katherine Dunlap’s one-year term. Katherine was recently elected to a two-year term as the first IARP director for marketing/membership on the IARP Board of Directors.

Beverly is a certified rehabilitation counselor who joined the UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits in 2008. Prior to 2008, Beverly worked at Unum for eight years.  Including her work in the area of disability insurance, she has 27 years of experience working within the field of rehabilitation. Between her experience working with private non-profit organizations and more recently the 13 years of experience working in the insurance industry, Beverly brings to the role of Council of Presidents representative a variety of leadership experiences and a deep commitment to the field of rehabilitation.

Over the last two years, she also worked for three semesters as an Adjunct Professor with Salve Regina (2011-2012), and broadened her professional context by running for and being elected to the IARP New England Chapter Board in the role of President Elect (2011 – 2012) and President (2012 – 2013).   The experience of being on the New England Chapter board has given her an active role in leadership in the district. Her professional connections have deepened her appreciation for all the different types of rehabilitation and rehabilitation issues that the IARP leadership is facing.

In addition to the work, Beverly keeps busy with two foster children, two cats, and a dog – a black lab named Mandee, with whom she competes in Agility competitions in Maine and New Hampshire.
