For almost a decade, I have worked with clients, families, institutions/facilities, and schools in providing services that help individuals maintain or obtain employment and remain in their home and community. I am a former state vocational and independent living rehabilitation counselor. I have transitioned to the private sector in the rehabilitation counseling field. I handle and accept new clients from law firms, local education agencies, individuals, insutance companies, businesses, and state agencies.
My experience include workers's compensation and personal injury cases, transition supports and services, Special Education law, job placement services as an employment network provider for the SSA Ticket to Work program, vocational expert with the Office of Hearing Operations, and educator as an adjunct professor in the transition specialist program at Assumption College. I have taught courses in the Rehabilitation Counseling field for several semesters. I have also published numerous articles as it relates to individuals with disabilities. In addition, I am a peer reviewer for the journal Career Development and Transition for Exceptional Individuals.
I earned a doctoral degree in special education from The University of Southern Mississippi, a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling from Southern University A & M, and a bachelors degree in social and rehabilitation services from The University of Southern Mississippi.
