"Update on Oregon Administrative Rules" & "Oregon's PWP Updates and Highlights"

Update on Oregon Administrative Rules: Impacts on calculating the worker's weekly wage and adjusted weekly wage.

The presentation will discuss recent changes to both Division 60 and Division 120 and how these changes affect the calculation of the worker's weekly wage for purposes of determining eligibility for and providing vocational assistance.

Oregon's Preferred Worker Program Updates and Highlights

Brian Nease will present on the Preferred Worker Program (PWP) in Oregon and how this supports injured workers returning or remaining in the workplace. He will provide specific examples of return to work success stories using workplace modifications and accommodations. This will describe the benefits of using the Preferred Workers Program to both employees and employers. Lastly, this presentation will provide example of how PWP can assist with job creation and how this has been successful.

About our Speakers

Katie Bruns is a policy analyst working in the Durham office of the Workers' Compensation Division. She is a certified mediator for the State of Oregon and has a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Oregon. Katie has worked for the division for over six years. The first four years she worked as an auditor and the next two years as a vocational reviewer. Prior to joining the division, she worked as a claims examiner for Liberty Northwest Insurance.

Brian Nease is a Worksite Modification Consultant for the State of Oregon Workers' Compensation Division Preferred Worker Program. For the past five years he has provided employment assistance and hiring incentives to injured workers and their employers throughout the state of Oregon. Prior to his work within the Preferred Worker Program, Brian spent the previous eight years providing workforce development for employers and vulnerable populations within Clackamas County. Before his work with Clackamas County, Brian spent 10 years in business management.
