Advances in Today's Assistive Technology & Updates from Oregon WCD & PWP

Please join us on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 3pm - 5 pm for IARP Oregon's Holiday Presentation, 2022 titled: Advances in Today's Assistive Technology & Updates from the Workers Compensation Division & Preferred Worker Program , presented by both  Jonathan Nilsson, Senior Sales Manager, Boundless Assistive Technology and Niklas Petersson, Owner / Operator, Miles Access Skills Training as well as Rob Crymes and Christy Johnson from the Workers' Compensation Division and Preferred Worker Program.

 

Jonathan Nilsson currently serves as a Senior Account Manager for Boundless Assistive Technology.  As a problem solver and low vision product expert, Johnathan collaborates with government agencies, healthcare providers, educators and individuals, to identify the best assistive technology solutions available while providing training in their use. Jonathan has a love for instructional design and has a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Learning Technology from Purdue University.

 

Niklas Petersson of Miles Access Technology is an expert in the area of  Assistive Technology. As a blind person, he has first-hand knowledge of how to integrate accommodative technology into the work environment, as well as at home. Niklas studied Mathematics and Sciences at Paul Säveskolan in his native Sweden. He received additional IT training at York University in Toronto, Ontario.

 

Rob Crymes, Vocational Reviewer with the Workers' Compensation Division, completed his Bachelor's Degree in Management at Northwest Christian University where he went on to work as a Vocational Counselor from 2009-2016. He then took a VRC position at Liberty Mutual Insurance in 2016 where he then obtained his CDMS certification. He has worked on both early return to work cases and traditional vocational rehabilitation.

 

Christy Johnson, Reemployment Specialist with the Employment Services Team provides technical direction to Oregon's injured workers and their employers. Christy holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Eastern Oregon University. Christy has extensive knowledge of the Workers' Compensation Division. She started her career with WCD in the mailroom and was quickly promoted to the support unit of the Appellate Review Unit, After a short time, she was again promoted to a Benefit Consultant. She went on to become a Certified Claims Examiner. After a little over a year, she was promoted into the Preferred Worker Program, where she remains today.
